Q: What countries and networks does Textamundo support?

A: Textamundo supports over 580 networks from 205 countries. When you are roaming (ie. not on your home network), as long as you can text your home network, Textamundo will work. Your network operator can tell you what networks they support for SMS roaming.


Q: Why did I not get a welcome SMS from Textamundo?

A: The first time you buy credits from Textamundo, you will get a welcome SMS which includes a password. If you don't receive it, check the list of supported countries and networks. You can request a new password via the "Forgot Password" facility.


Q: How does Textamundo work?

A: Once you buy Textamundo credits, you can text a question at any time. The answer will be researched by a Textamundo agent, who will reply quickly to you by SMS.


Q: What sort of questions can Textamundo answer?

A: Our agents use their experience and resources to quickly find the answer you need. You’ll get the best answers by following these guidelines:

  • Be specific – “Can you send me a taxi number in Berlin?” is good. “Can you send me a taxi number in Germany?” is not.
  • Understand that our agents use public sources of information. For example, if you ask for information about a departing flight, the agent will be checking the airport or airline websites and will answer with the information listed.
  • Try and be as clear as you can with your question, and note that if it is a follow up question, it may be answered by a different agent.

Q: Can I call to ask a question?

A: Yes, you can ask questions by voice using Dial2Do. It is a free service: you can simply call a local number, say "textamundo", and speak your question. Please keep your question concise and speak clearly. You will get the reply by text message.


Q: To what number should I text my questions?

A: The Textamundo service number is +1310 279 8147. If you are in the USA, 310 279 8147 is good. The "+" sign means international access code. This code varies from country to country, so it is easiest to just use the "+" sign.


Q: What sort of mobile phone do I need?

A: Any phone that can send and receive text messages – in other words, most mobiles.


Q: How quickly will I get a reply?

A: Response times depend on current question volume and agent availability. Our aim is to answer 95% of questions in less than 15 minutes and 100% in less than 30 minutes. If your answer is sent later than 30 minutes you will not be charged.


Q: Do you have local numbers in each country?

A: No – it is simpler to have one number that works from 205 supported countries.


Q: Are my questions and answers confidential?

A: Your questions and answers are handled in strict compliance with the Textamundo Privacy Policy. To help you, our agents have access to previous questions you have sent and answers you have received. Agents and staff of Textamundo will never disclose any of your personal data or messages to third parties.


Q: Can I send more than one question in a single SMS?

A: Yes. Just make sure the questions are clear and are suitable to be answered in a single SMS.


Q: Can I change the registered primary mobile?

A: Yes, just sign in to your account and pick My Profile and Edit to change the number. If you are using a temporary number (for example because you have an extra SIM while travelling) you don’t need to change your primary number. Just register the new number in the Additional Numbers section instead.


Q: What if I change SIMs in my mobile?

A: That’s no problem – just sign in to your Textamundo account and register the new SIM. If it is your primary mobile number, change that. You can also register up to 9 secondary mobiles, which is useful if you are travelling and changing SIMs.


Q: How can I unsubscribe from the Textamundo service?

A: Just send an email with the subject "Unsubscribe" to support@textamundo.com, and your account will be retired


Q: How much does it cost to send an SMS to Textamundo?

A: Textamundo charges you only for Answers sent. When you send an SMS to Textamundo, the SMS cost is the standard charge by your network provider for sending to a US mobile number. When you are roaming overseas, you will normally pay an additional roaming fee to your network for each SMS – check with your network provider.


If you are spending more than a week or so in a particular country, we recommend that you buy a local SIM and register the number with Textamundo. Not only will your local calls be cheaper, you’ll also pay less for text messages.


Q: How much does it cost to receive the SMS answer?

A: Textamundo will charge one credit from your Textamundo account for each SMS answer sent. Your network provider may charge for you to receive SMS messages depending on your plan. Non-US operators generally do not charge for messages received.


Q: Is Textamundo a Premium Rate service?

A: No. The number used for the Textamundo service is a standard US number.


Q: How can I buy credits?

A: Just pick the "Buy Credit" link on the front page of textamundo.com. For top-ups, you can also sign in and click on the Buy Credit link. You can use any payment method supported by PayPal, including bank accounts and credit cards. Payments are processed by Paypal’s secure payment service. You do not need to be a registered Paypal user to use this service.


Q: Can I get a cash refund on unused credits?

A: No, credits purchased cannot be refunded. In the unlikely event that you are dissatisfied with the service, please let us know, so we can address the problem.


Q: Will my credit balance ever expire?

A: Yes. If there is no activity on your account (no messages sent or received) for a period of 12 months, your account will be archived and any credit balance will expire.


Q: What happens if I send a question and don’t get a reply?

A: If we receive your message, we always reply. Very rarely, an SMS will not be delivered. If you resend a message, please include the text RESEND in your question, to avoid receiving two replies.


Q: What happens if the answer I get is wrong?

A: Please tell us. We try hard to make sure we have top quality agents who always send an accurate answer, but sometimes one slips through. Contact us at support@textamundo.com with a copy of the question/answer and we’ll investigate and adjust your credits.


Q: What if I forget my password?

A: On the main screen, click on the "Forgot Password?" link. Enter your registered email address and a new password will be sent to your registered primary mobile by SMS.


Q: What if I forget which email address I used to register?

A: Contact us at support@textamundo.com and let us know your primary mobile number. We will send a response message to your registered email address.
